Patrick Rodrigue is a Quebec City-based artist whose daily environment has been the main source of inspiration over the last fifteen years. Public squares, age-old quarters, rooftops, dormer windows, flower boxes, backyards and common passerbys can be found in Patrick Rodrigue’s oil paintings.
Occasionally he goes off to paint in the country round the town and comes back with endearing landscapes. His paintings stand out in many ways : clever use of space and depth, original angle, accuracy of both perspective and drawing, refinement of color blends and light effects, etc.
Born in 1964, Parick Rodrigue received a BA in graphic design from Laval University in Quebec City (1988). He also earned a Diploma in painting and drawing from the Ontario College of Arts in Toronto (1992) whose program included, for him, a year of independent studies in Florence (Italy) financed through a grant from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation.
Patrick Rodrigue’s paintings are found in various art galleries throughout the province of Quebec since 1994. They were the objects of many solo and group exhibitions over the years. His art is now part of private as well as corporate collections across America.
